A sad day for our family

This is my father-in-laws obituary that was in the paper. The funeral was today.

Hugh R. Richardson of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009, at the age of 65. He was born in Bakersfield, California, to parents, Harry and Mearl (Coats) Richardson. Although he was born in Bakersfield, he was raised in both California and Missouri. Hugh entered the U.S. Army in 1964, to bravely serve our country in Vietnam, earning both a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. After returning home from the service he was united in marriage to Carol Overbay, on November 11, 1967 in Reno, Nevada. The two started their family in Livermore, California, where Hugh worked as a pipe layer as a member of Local 121. The family moved to Myrtle Creek in 1976. After nearly 42 years he retired in 1999. Hugh enjoyed barbecuing and gardening, especially raising roses. He also enjoyed wood working. He is survived by his wife of over 41 years, Carol of Myrtle Creek. He also leaves three children, Lisa Hammond and her husband, Kelly; Joe Richardson and his wife, Michelle and Danny Richardson and his wife, Jessica all of Myrtle Creek. He has a brother, Paul Richardson and his wife, Lucille of Myrtle Creek; sisters, Helen Archuleta and her husband, Rick and Betty Lincecum and her husband, Max all of Myrtle Creek; a sister-in-law, Ruby Richardson of Success, Missouri. His grandchildren include, Brittany and Keith Hammond; Destiny, Jacob Richardson and Coby Richardson all of Myrtle Creek, as well numerous nieces and nephews. Hugh was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Richardson. Interment will be at the Roseburg VA National Cemetery under the direction of Taylor's Family Chapel.
